A training program for developing safety management skills and accident-prevention expertise. Participants successfully completing all elements of the program receive recognition as Safety & Health Specialist from The Safety & Health Council of Western Missour & Kansas.

The Safety & Health Specialist Certification program meets the requirements of organizations needing people with comprehensive safety skills they can apply to real life situations. To ensure this result, each course is taught by instructor (s) with extensive hands-on experience in the subject areas. Participants with newly acquired safety responsibilities, as well as those who have worked in the safety field for several years, will benefit from this certification program.

The Safety & Health Specialist Certification program format consists of 29 topics taught in 17 sessions. Each session is approximately eight hours in length and covers one or two topics. Participants receive credit towards certification for all courses completed within a two-year period. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are also available for each completed subject. All 17 sessions must be completed to receive the Safety and Health Specialist Certification.

This certification class starts March. Should your company or other activities, require you to miss a session, classes can be made up by contacting the instructor.  You will have 2 years from start to complete the program.

Upon completion of this Specialist Certification Program Nine College Credit Hours from Kansas City Metropolitan Community Colleges will be awarded
